Strengths
From year 7 to year 9, I had weekly guitar lessons so I now know some chords, strumming patterns and picking patterns. This is helpful as it allows me to have a basic understanding of how a guitar works and think of chords and notes to use in my songs.
In year 8, I was a part of a guitar club, so I had practise working as a part of a group and learnt how to keep in time with others.
Weaknesses
I lack confidence in speaking to other people and dislike people looking at my work while I'm there. This makes is difficult for me to get help when needed and get constructive criticism.
I struggle to write lyrics.
I find it difficult to start a piece of work and often do not know where to start.
Opportunities
I have weekly piano lessons, this will help me learn about musical harmony and how to read music.
I will be working in class of people who may be able to help me with work I struggle with and I may be able to help them. This will help me improve my confidence speaking to others and working with others.
Threats
I do not own a piano so I can not practise in between my music lessons.
I struggle to make time for practise and work within the rest of my schoolwork.
I only have 1 hour in class to write about what I have learnt in the past week, 1 hour of practical lesson and 20 minutes of piano a week.
